Awesome. I generally prefer hard surface flooring, such as tile or marble... but if i could get this kind of carpet in my basement i would be all set. Your design actually reminds me of rusty steel a little bit.

I appreciate the interplay of material attributes; applying the visual effect specific to a hard surface onto a soft carpet tile. Could the hairs of the carpet change colors over time to mimic the rusting effect of metal?

Feels very organic and would be really interesting as a carpet. You really get the sense of degradation while also being really visually pleasing!
